The Way We Do Things
Every business has a basic way of doing things. This attitude carries throughout the company, from upper management to the newest employees. Holco’s business culture refers to our values, visions, working style, beliefs and habits. Our business culture influences management, decisions and all business functions from accounting to production.
Holco tends to be more hands-on at all levels of the business. There are few layers of management, which allows the business to stay in touch with most workers and to guide the direction of the business personally.
This hands-on guidance allows us create a business culture reflective of our ethical beliefs.
Holco has a commitment to increase & achieve standardised patterns of behaviours in relation to safety. Holco has an objective to increase identification of safe working environments within the organisation and creating a safety culture .A safety culture implies some level of relationship between the corporate culture of an organisation and the culture of the workplace.
Significant energy and resources are being invested in researching and developing safer ways of operating, some examples being:
- implement technology and developing better equipment
- developing better manual handling risk assessment tools and implementing mutually recognised safety procedures
Other areas of emphasis include work redesign, noise control, working in adverse conditions effects of work in moderate cold, and ergonomic management of over-use injury risks.
Holco operates within a flat line management structure to ensure the hands on approach to managing our product, people and plan. When each individual takes part in the functions of the business from the production floor to the customers door, we are encouraging constructive behaviours which are key to successful growth.
The way we behave is also integral to building trusting relationships, which is why we place as much emphasis on behaviour as we do on results. By engaging in all aspects of the business we are building an engaged workforce, which creates and delivers more positive experiences for others, internally and externally – which in turn, contributes to Holco’s long-term growth.
Holco’s ability to achieve great results for the long term is underpinned by what we term our ‘achievement culture’. We believe that developing strong leaders and encouraging constructive behaviours is key to successful growth. The way we behave is also integral to building trusting relationships, which is why we place as much emphasis on behaviour as we do on results.
By building a company that our people are proud of and a culture that engages them, we can ensure they feel good about working for Holco.
